Origin Peru

The root of everything

Peru is much more than the origin of our fibers: it's the birthplace of our inspiration. A country marked by a millennia-old textile tradition, a sacred connection to the land, and a way of understanding time through care.

From the heights of Cusco, Arequipa, and Puno , to the silent valleys where alpacas blend seamlessly with the landscape, the Peruvian Andes preserve a unique way of creating. At Aklla Essentia, we select pieces that capture that essence: the natural, the beautiful, the enduring.

The art of fiber

At altitudes of up to 5,000 meters, Peruvian alpacas have developed an unparalleled fiber: light, warm, hypoallergenic, and available in a natural palette of more than 20 shades.

It is the baby alpaca , obtained from the first shearing of the young animal, that we use in our pieces: a fiber as soft as silk, but strong and durable like the legacy it represents.

  • ✔️ Natural thermoregulation
  • ✔️ Lanolin-free (ideal for sensitive skin)
  • ✔️ Silky and light texture
  • ✔️ Range of natural, undyed colors

A conscious selection

We don't produce directly. At Aklla Essentia, we collaborate with Peruvian factories and spinning mills recognized for their excellence, traceability, and environmental friendliness.

We select only those pieces and processes that allow us to offer luxury with meaning , taking care of each phase:

  • Responsible shearing
  • Classification by micron, color and length
  • Sustainable processes with certifications
  • Commitment to decent local employment
  • Clean, ethical and controlled production

Living tradition

In the Andes, textiles aren't fashion: they're identity. From pre-Incan civilizations to the present day, textiles have conveyed history, spirituality, and knowledge.

Although processes have evolved today, that respect for fiber and what it represents remains intact. And Aklla Essentia acts as a bridge between those cultural roots and a contemporary aesthetic , connecting Peru with homes where the essential is valued.

Guiding origin

We call this page "Origin Peru" because it's more than just a place on the map. It's our beacon. Everything we choose is born from a single question:
Does this honor the spirit of where we come from?

“In every fiber, in every curve of the fabric, travels a story woven through the Andes. And in every Aklla piece, a fragment of that story reaches you.”
